Virah
The summoned champion of the Light, also called Roger — monstrously strong, regenerative, and stripped of memory by design; a hero who dies to close a rift and is summoned again, emptied, to fight the same war a second time.
Virah — also called Roger — is the summoned champion at the centre of the Champion of the Light universe. The goddess known as the Light called him out of another world to hold the line against the Covenant, and took his memory in the calling, so that he woke into the war already a weapon and only slowly became a person again.
He was strong before he knew his own name. That was not an accident.
Role and history
Summoned and bound, Virah flees the cruelty of King Argus with the bastard princess Rhuna, who holds his anchor. He takes work as a caravan guard, fights through waves of undead and a hunting necromancer, and is trained in the following of prophecy by the seventy-year speedster Drus. When the Covenant tears the sky, Virah dies collapsing the portal into the undead dimension — a death that closes one rift and ends one life. It does not end him. The Light re-summons him, his memory excised a second time, and the war begins again with the same champion emptied of everything he had earned.
Powers
Virah arrives monstrously strong and regenerative, built to survive the front from his first hour. He opens the elemental gates of his world — Earth, Wind, Fire, Water — and grows their attributes; chaining two gates into a confluence doubles an attribute, the compounding engine of his strength. His body outlasts wounds that would kill an ordinary soldier, which is precisely what makes him worth summoning more than once.
Relationships
- Rhuna — the king's abused bastard princess, bound to Virah as his anchor and the holder of his seal; the person a memory-wipe cannot fully account for.
- King Argus — the abusive king and last of the Church of the Light, whose cruelty drives Virah's flight.
- Drus — the wind-and-fire speedster who trains him and reads the prophecies the Light works through.
- The Light — the goddess who summons him, wipes him, and summons him again.
Open hooks
Whether Virah ever keeps a memory across a wipe; what Rhuna's anchor becomes when the champion it binds is emptied; how many champions the Light spent before him; and what world he was pulled from — a question the wipe is designed to keep him from ever asking.
Theories & resonances
Virah's summoning is one of the five doors — divine summoning — the same crossing a cultivator would call ascension and a wanderer would call dying. His endless re-summoning places him among the multiverse's forged champions drafted against a doom and then spent or wiped, a pattern the wiki tracks as a Resonance and does not treat as a confirmed crossing.
