The tapestry of worlds in the empty between-place, on which every universe hangs as a single stitch of cold fire.

The Loom of Heavens is the master frame of the multiverse: a vast tapestry hung in an empty between-place, on which every universe appears as a single stitch of cold fire. Threads of space run between the stitches like tunnels drawn through the void. Seen from outside, the whole resembles the inside of an enormous brain — bright cores knotted at the centre by thousands of crossings, and lonely points at the dim edges tied to the rest of creation by only three or four thin threads.

Bright cores at the heart, lonely points at the rim — and between them, roads no mortal has ever walked.

Centre and frontier

Central universes are dense and well-connected. Frontier universes hang at the rim with almost no threads at all. Most known stitches are frontier backwaters — which is exactly why almost no one within them has ever suspected the Loom is there. The world of Blaze, tied to creation by only four faint golden threads, is one such rim-stitch.

The lid above every sky

A dreaded truth surfaces from more than one universe: the sky of a lower world is not open — it is a lid, a seal placed from above by higher-realm powers, and the world beneath it is farmed. Ignorance is the keystone of the seal; a world that knows what its sky truly is becomes far harder to keep sealed.

The Loom, then, is no neutral tapestry but a hierarchy, its lower stitches kept small and quiet on purpose. As the saying runs across many worlds: there is always a smaller sky, and a larger one above it. The mountain beyond the mountain never ends.

Crossing between stitches

The Loom permits a pattern — a soul — to move between universes by several local mechanisms, which the inhabitants of each world name in their own terms, never suspecting they describe the same act: ascension up the nine realms, void-resurrection, divine summoning, judged reincarnation, and engineered gates. These are five names for one door.

Theories & resonances

The weaving motif recurs across three universes that do not know of one another: the Loom itself; the Weavers and their Codex, whose machine has begun detecting "a current — the same shape repeating across worlds"; and the found notebooks known as the Weavings. Whether these are three views of one weave remains an open thread the wiki may pull, but must not tie.
