Whiteflame
A hunted body-cultivation master who, dying, scattered his soul into a hundred blood-drops across the Loom; one drop seeded Rin's road, and his surviving wisp taught the first layers of the Blaze Tempering — leaving a debt of revenge as the price of the inheritance.
Whiteflame is the master from whom Rin inherits the Blaze Tempering in Blaze. Hunted and dying, he did not simply die: he scattered his soul into a hundred blood-drops cast across the stitches of the Loom, so that some fragment of him might land where his enemies could not follow and wake again.
A hundred sparks thrown into the dark, on the chance that one lands where a fire is wanted.
Role and history
Whiteflame was a body cultivator — a walker of the same hidden road he later leaves to Rin — and a hunted one, pursued by enemies the drafts have not yet named. His dying act was a dispersal: a hundred drops of blood, each carrying a fragment of his soul, flung across the weave. One of them settled in the waterfall cave below Scarlet City, in the pearl that ignited Rin's road. His surviving wisp teaches Rin the first layers of the Blaze Tempering and, with them, leaves a revenge debt — the price of the inheritance is that Rin carries Whiteflame's unfinished war.
Powers and techniques
Whiteflame walked the Blaze Tempering, the concealed body-cultivation road that consumes qi rather than storing it. His signature act, though, is the scattering itself: a dying master's dispersal of his own pattern into a hundred seeds, a technique aimed less at survival than at continuation — the road preserved even if the man is not.

Whiteflame is the clearest instance of the scattered-master thread — a dying high-realm being seeding lower stitches with himself. The pattern recurs: the Hollow Lantern of the Nine Vaults Continent holds a dead immortal's soul-ash, and a dying cultivator's blood wakes Evergreen in Sky Pillar. Whether such scattering is a way to cheat the severance that exiles a Primordial God, or to plant an inheritor who will climb where the master could not, the wiki leaves open.
